Roger Edward Brock

Managing Director

Roger Brock is an internationally respected property expert. He is Chairman and Managing Director of The Northbourne Group and Managing Director of Northbourne Metropolitan Estates Property Company (MEPC), a property development company specialising in major projects in Australia, the UAE and UK. Roger is a former Managing Director of No. 1 O’Connell Street Asset Management Pty Ltd and former Managing Director and International Board Member of Knight Frank.

Roger is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute (FAPI), a Fellow of the Society of Land Economists (FSLE), and a former Trustee of CEDA (Committee for Economic Development for Australia).

During his 35 year career, Roger has developed property in excess of £2 Billion. Significant projects include the 40 storey office tower and retail complex at 1 O’Connell Street, Sydney, sold on completion to Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), the 16 storey Headquarters for the Australian National Pension Fund (SFIT) in Canberra, and the redevelopment of the 16 level building, 7 Macquarie Place Sydney.

In Australia Roger has joint ventured projects with The Prudential Assurance Company Limited, Obayashi Corporation of Japan, The Lend Lease Group, Legal & General and the NSW Government Insurance Office. In London, Roger maintains strong links with Hines UK Ltd, Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, and Sir Rocco Forte. Established MENA region partners include UAE Rulers, ADIC, ADIA and Qatari Diar.

Roger has been awarded the Australian Financial Review’s “Businessman of the Year” and received the prestigious BOMA National Award on three occasions.

Roger is Managing Director of Town Centre Properties (UK) Limited and is Consultant Head of Sales at Davies White & Perry.

Peter Short

Group Ambassador, Asia Pacific

Peter Short commenced his legal career at Freehill Hollingdale & Page where he was a partner for 23 years. He was also a partner at Norton Rose for 9 years. He has been a private consultant in legal and commercial advising for over 11 years.

During his legal career he has provided advice on commercial property transactions, project development and construction, joint ventures, project delivery agreements, trust advice, stamp duty advice, site acquisitions for major development projects, construction contracts and financing and general commercial advice.

He has been involved in structuring acquisition vehicles for various projects and general advice in regard to some of the most prestigious buildings in Sydney, such as No 1 O’Connell St, Sydney, MLC Centre, 580 George St, Sydney, 135 King St, Sydney and the Renzo Piano building at Aurora Place, 88 Phillip St, Sydney.

He has acted for Landcom (a NSW State Owned Corporation) on major developments in New South Wales for over 10 years. His most recent involvement was acting for Landcom on the Green Square Project, the $1.7 Billion residential, commercial and retail development with Mirvac and Leighton Property.

He is a current or past member of the Australian Academy of Forensic Science, Urban Development Institute of Australia, Advisory Board of the Property Industry Foundation, Limousin Cattle Breeders Association, Biodiversity Banking Focus & Review Group, Chairman’s Council of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Australian Legal Resources International.

Charles Dalrymple-Hay

Director

Charles started his real estate career in the mid 1970’s analysing property stocks while working in stock broking in London and Sydney. He joined Knight Frank in the early 1980’s, qualifying as a valuer and subsequently becoming Director, Investments, before leaving to establish his own real estate consultancy practice, and founding Guardian Global Systems in the year 2000. Charles is a non-executive director of Northbourne, based in Sydney.

He enjoys a passion for sailing and represented Australia in the Admirals Cup on several occasions contesting many epic Sydney to Hobart classics in the redoubtable maxi yacht “Ragamuffin”.
